|Golden Wedding||Congratulations to our friends Lynda and Alastair Mackenzie, who were married on the 6th September 1967 at Balgay (St Thomas) Parish Church by the Rev W.A. Dundas.|
As you walk from the kirk after morning service, heading for that welcome coffee break, take a look to your left. The stone you see, nestling against the west wall of the church, commemorates the life of John Symington, a senior elder and much loved friend to many in St Stephen’s. No matter the sphere of church activity, John was involved; from carpet bowling and badminton to organising the distribution of the church magazine. His death in June 2015 was deeply mourned.
The church garden, in which John had taken a great pride, makes a highly appropriate setting for his memorial stone. In a short service of dedication, held on March 26 this year, the Rev Keith Hall paid tribute to John’s many qualities.
He will be fondly remembered N.A.
